Coldplay Visuals
Straight onto the next project we go, concocting moving cogs (yes more cogs) for the new Coldplay visuals in collaboration with Judy Jacob from Beggars Velvet. (http://www.beggarsvelvet.com) Who knew cog turning to the music would be so hard? ( I blame the sleep deprivation, not my lack of rhythm)
On a more serious note, all well wishes are being sent out to Claude Jacob, suffering a bout of cat achne… Get well soon.

A Sinful Teaset and weeks of confession
With all this work on sinning and confessing we have found ourselves in the eye of a storm of peculiar tales: We have learned a lot more about our friends and colleagues than we ever imagined, not to mention the amount of detail strangers are willing to divulge when confronted by mute marionettes holding up signs (V&A late - 30.5.- The Modern Confessor).
While the rest of the team was working frantically towards the V&A night in London, I was running around Berlin trying to find a solution as to how to fix a relatively heavy shelf onto a hollow wall made of cardboard for our treasured "7 sin teaset". (Our german agents Andrea and Jörn from 2agenten had organized a huge show for all their illustrators in one of those enviably large vacant spaces Berlin has to offer. ) Our star-euro-assistant Berni made it all happen for us in the end, squirting some specialist filler into the holes in the wall before hammering those magic rawlplugs in. It sounds easy enough, but it sure does get the pulse racing when you realize that the filler needs 2 hours drying time - with only one and a half hours to go before the show opens...
To my surprise it all stayed up. Berni - I love you forever!

PS: I want to marry him. (That is my confession by the way!)

V&A The Art of Confession.. part 1!
With migraines haunting our delicate craniums and the bags under our eyes becoming a rather permanent feature it was evident that the V&A project had taken over our lives. Every day we occupied ourselves with wood routering, cog cutting, motor sourcing and other ludicrous activities, some days working in the beautiful summer sun, other days by a bodged bonfire desperate for warmth, all this fuelled by a diet of fig rolls and bananas.
Then the evening arrived, a manic 8 hour setup seemed to skirt by in minutes, The boys at Bad Idea curated and executed an amazing evening, the team at The V&A were brilliantly helpful and supportive, and of course how could we forget our hero Dave, even though his antics from the night before left him looking a slight shade of green he drilled his way through the pain and endured endless taunts from the ladies of ContainerPLUS.. That’s a real man for you!
